Unhappy how do I install a wireless card without an internet connection?

Hi,

I'm new to Linux, though am keen to begin learning to admin my system.

I've installed FC6 on a laptop and now want to use my wireless card (Phillips SNN6500). I believe the drivers aren't installed from the installation DVD used, but with the tutorial found via this forum (http://www.manix-place.co.uk/wireless.html) I seem to have got them now.
My problem is - I can't physically plug into the internet via a wire so I can't proceed by using yum.

Why can't I use yum without referring to an external repository? How do I change the repository otherwise?
I don't know where to begin looking for a solution. Please help!

It appears that the driver is madwifi, which a Fedora Unity wireless howto. It requires an external repository because such packages aren't in the included Fedora ones.

So the problem will be getting it installed without internet. You could download the files on a separate computer and transfer them via a USB drive or a burned CD.
