Mplayer plugin see installed codec, but Mplayer doesn't

Hey there,
installed codecs and plugin for firefox. Quicktime plays trailers and movies fine, but neither xine nor mplayer will play anything. They can not locate the codecs.


I don't know where else to put them.

forgot to mention that I have it there :



Completely blew everything away and with a fresh install int runs now.
