Login screen resolution different from desktop resolution

Hello.

I wonder if anyone could shed some light on this issue I have. The thing is that my desktop resolution in Gnome is 1280x1024@75, which is perfect. I have set it with the following modeline in xorg.conf:

ModeLine "1280x1024" 135 1280 1296 1440 1688 1024 1025 1028 1066 +hsync +vsync

However, the refresh rate at login screen is 85 Hz, and also the resolution is probably different (it's hard to tell, really, but the login screen doesn't fill up the whole screen horizontally).

So, how can I set the refresh rate and resolution of the login screen?

Thanks.

EDIT: typos

Go System > Administration > Display.

There set the resolution to your Desktop's resolution. After that restart Xwindows with gdm-restart or logout.

I have the identical problem after installing FC7. Lowering resolution in System > Administration > Display does not help because it is already set to 1024 x 768, which is where I would login resolution to be.

Something else must control the resolution of the login screen. Any other suggestions, please?

Has anyone found a solution yet?

System -> Administration -> Display reports the same resolution as my desktop has, so if I actually worked, the login screen should already have the right resolution. But that's no the case.

The login screen refresh rate and resolution have to be controlled through some other method, which I do not know about.

What about console resolution? Is it the same?

As I mentioned before, it was the solution to the problem on my system.
