Hi,
I have a PowerMac G5, which I have Mac OS X installed on (80GB HD that came with it). Inside that I have a second hard drive, 300GB, so plenty of space to put Fedora 7 and play with it.
I installed Fedora 7 on the 300GB hard drive, all fine, no problems, but can't get the G5 to boot from it, won't recognize it when I restart and hold Option/Alt, and when Mac OS X starts up, it says the 300GB drive is unreadable, do I want to initialize it.
I read that I need an Apple Partition table, and an Apple bootstrap partition. I'm familar with fdisk (passed RHCT a week ago but only used Intel based machines which of course use GRUB) and can boot off the recovery CD, so can get at the disk & repartition it, but I don't know how I actually make it an Apple Partition table, or how you make an Apple bootstrap partition. I presume you can't just give it X MB of space and it magically becomes a bootstrap partitioN?
Any info anyone has or can point me towards would be much appreciated!
Kev.
