tw2113, Please post your "HowTo" how you was managed to get GIMP2.4 rc3 compiled.

Yay! Hopefully we'll get a full blown release in time for F8!! (and I mean GIMP 2.4 release in F8 from the get go, not from updates)

I think I heard somewhere that the final release will be in F8.
for the compiling, i was just having some tiff and jpeg issues and found that i was missing their devel. libraries. once I installed those, I had everything i needed for success.
./configure
make
su -
make install.

I tried this and had no luck. Many things did work but one of the most important options "Duplicate Frames" doesn't.
I get this message..

Actually there is a test build in livna, though you will have to install a test repo (this request was made by me, feel free to contribute):
