Mplayer (plug-in) doesn't recognize streams as video/audio

When clicking on an .asx or .asf stream, the plug-in from Mplayer does the following:
  • Getting playlist...
  • Buffering
  • Connecting to server
  • Stopped
When started from terminal:
Code:
[jacco@localhost ~]$ mplayer http://cgi.omroep.nl/cgi-bin/streams?/id/TROS/serie/AUTO_THEMAKINGOFDEVLIEGENDEHOLLA/TROS_1142194/bb.20070811.asf

Compiled with runtime CPU detection.

When '-playlist' is added, there is no problem at all:
