Switching from ATI to Nvidia
Just got a new graphics card today. I will be swapping out my x800GTO2 for a 7950GT Does anyone know of any possible problems I may run into while doing this? Anything that may cause conflict? Anything I just should probably know before making the switch? Any input is greatly appreciated. I am so ready to get this new card put in

If it was me I would remove the ati driver and change xorg.conf to vesa ( removing all the ati edits as well ) then shut down and install the new card reboot then install the new driver.

try running the script again with -r
Code:
su
sh installXGL_EN -r
p.s remove ati edits as well from xorg.conf

for the nvidia install
su
yum install kmod-nvidia
nvidia-config-display enable
service nvidia restart
if you run 64bit you will need the 32 bit nvidia libs as well

Just a thought if you used the homepage ati installer you may have replaced libGL which will cause problems
if you did this try
su
yumdownloader mesa-libGL
rpm -U --replacepkgs --replacefiles mesa-libGL*rpm

installed the nvidia driver and all seems to be well.. Much better performance in Nexuiz. How would I know if there was a problem?

that is working okay far as I can tell. Why is 1280 x 1024 in "metamodes" twice? Oh the problem with beryl was solved by unchecking "Detect Refresh Rate"

I dont know the line was generated by nvidia control panel ( it can generate a xorg.conf )
P.S Was Nvidia easier to setup ?
