UPS and linux

hi all

there is this test server where now i have to put my hands on. It still runs fedora 5, but that's not a issue since it's only a intranet server, so don't tell me "aww, upgrade it!" because i just CAN'T. Boss said.

So, back to my question:

That server has a AgePower 160 UPS. Of course it comes with windows software. I haven't tried NUT yet (http://www.networkupstools.org/) because that ups isn't listed there. Can someone give me advice on how to proceed with this "i don't know if this UPS will work with this USB cable" UPS ?

Fedora Core 5 is dead. I still think you should upgrade it. Move it to CentOS if the lifespan is too short.

nut and apcupsd are the two UPS packages I know of, so if it's not APC try nut.
