Lightbulb A quick moment of your time, a question.

I like asked about backing up external harddrives and found some answers but I now wont to know what backup tools others use and if you like them.
So pleas give me your fave and hated program backup lists.
O and specify if you use a CD, DVD, HD OR web based storage solutions.
I look forward to hearting from all of you.

I use rsync with the GTK frontend Grsync (it is in the repositories). Backups are stored on a different machine in the network (using ssh for the transfer). I'll probably automate this with a cron job eventually.

I used rdiff-backup for a while but stopped after it spit up some errors.

I now use rsnapshot to back up to my second internal hard drive. I've set up a cron job that runs rsnapshot to make a backup snapshot every night, every week and every month. rsnapshot makes it easy to keep a set of rotating backup snapshots.

I also try to make monthly backups to DVD+R. The dirsplit utility is very handy to fit files onto multiple discs efficiently.
