I have a Sony Vaio series that I got working really nicely with FC6 and F7 but I just upgraded to F8 and I have a couple issues.
The biggest problem is the sony_acpi and fsfn hack that I had been using to manage video brightness and audio volume with the Fn keys no longer works. I'm using the instructions described at:
Fedora on Sony Vaio FJ Series
Although sony_acpi does build and load with modprobe the files don't get created in /proc/acpi/sony and if those aren't there the fsfn daemon crashes.
It appears something changed in the new 2.6.23 kernel vs. the previous 2.6.22 kernel I had been using.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
