fedora 8+xgl troubles :(

I followed a guide on here on how to install xgl.. not really for fedora 8 but I'm almost there when I try and start kde xgl session it doesn't start and in the xsession-errors file I see all of this.. don't even mention aiglx +fglrx or w/e :X I've tried it and hated it so I want to go back to what worked for me before

Directory does not exist or has wrong permissions
Directory missing fonts.dir
Incorrect font server address or syntax
startkde: Starting up...
