Can you force yum to install an aready installed package?

Hi all,

I would like to use yum to install the official version of a particular package.
I just want to get screenshots comparing the official version with a modified one.

I am twiddling with the system (one reason I like linux is because I can).
Everything is currently working.
Yum tells me that the package is already installed.
Is there a way to get yum to install a package that is already installed?
I believe the answer is NO. Uninstalling is not an option.

Hallo

exactly the answer is NO.

You could install qemu and install a virtual Fedora on it. The you can tray everything. If you copy qenu-image after system-installation, you can at every time return to a clean test-system.

yumdownloader packagename
rpm -U --replacefiles --replacepkgs packagename
