hostname incorrectly displayed

My hostname at the shell prompt initialy was "unknown0011b5dd0e7e"
I changed it to "MyHostname" through Administration->Network->DNS-Hostname.
Now the prompt correctly displays "MyHostname" but on my Billion router DHCP Table it says "unknown0011b5dd0e7e" running in windows is correct.
I am wondering if this is causing my problems with Samba? Can someone tell me whats going on?

It will till the dhcp lease expires. Reboot the router and clear out /var/run/dhc* .

I removed the file dhclient-eth0.pid in the /var/run/ directory.
After Rebooting the PC and the router the router DHCP table now has ' (none)". But shouldn't it be 'MyHostname'?

I ran the command:

dhclient eth0

The router DHCP table has changed back to "unknown0011b5dd0e7e" under client hostname.
