Question boinc help new to fedora

hi i'm new to fedora, i have FC8, i am trying to figure out how to install linux using yum, i'm pretty tech literate usually but i just can't figure this out, any help would be greatly appreciated, i tried using search but it wasn't too helpful.

if you have F8, on a cd/dvd, then boot it up in the cd-rom drv.
Once the system is running you will have an icon to install it to a disk.
You need 512MB of memory.

i do have the dvd in currently, but i can't find boinc

i downloaded the boinc file from boinc's site, i just cant get it to install

This first is a set of install instructions for Ubuntu, so you have to use these instructions as a general approach rather than copying verbatim, but it's how I got BOINC up and running. Also note, that on my system, BOINC runs WAYYY SLOW, so again this might not be the most efficient approach...

Also re BOINC, I ran into the xlib error goofiness which seems to plague FC8. Address that here:
