Kill Switch not working on TravelMate

I am using Fedora 8 on an Acer TravelMate 4064NWLMi and the kill switch is on, as can be seen in the following dmesg:

When I press the kill switch button which is an LED on the front side of my laptop, nothing happens and I get the following error message in dmesg:

atkbd.c: Use 'setkeycodes e056 <keycode>' to make it known.
atkbd.c: Unknown key released (translated set 2, code 0xd6 on isa0060/serio0).

There are no options to control the kill switch from BIOS. The only fix that I am aware of is to boot into windows and disable the kill switch by pressing the front LED button. Now I have decided not to use Windows at all and my question is, how can I solve this without having a whole other operating system as a solution?!

Woohoo, I found a solution that's as simple as they get! Thanks to http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...pw2200-592920/

The fix is to simply hold down the function key "Fn" and press the Kill Switch
