ConsoleKit Missing fc9

Hi everyone,

My services seem to be a little messed up. For example, ConsoleKit is installed, according to yumex, and rpm -q gives me: ConsoleKit-0.2.10-3.fc9.i386. However, when I open my services gui, it's not listed there.

PulseAudio is working, so ConsoleKit must be too. Does anyone have any ideas on why the service isn't showing up in the gui?

Also, right click on my Gnome desktop isn't working...and none of the icons are showing up (Computer, Trash, etc), and when I download a file to my desktop, it doesn't show up. I have to use Dolphin to see it...

Thanks in advance,

Peragrate.

ConsoleKit was changed big time and its service was removed, so there is no way to turn it off, etc.

If you say your Gnome is messed up.
Login to xfce or KDE as root, yes, really.
Start your terminal:
Code:
mv .gnome2 to .gnome2.backup
mv .gconf to .gconf.backup
Log off, then relogin to Gnome session as a normal user.
Does this work?

Smile Okay

I'll give that a shot tomorrow. Thanks Marc. By the way, what does that command do?

Basically eliminate your current Gnome setting. When relogin to GNome, it recreates those directories at default settings.
