Fedora 9 cannot empty trash.

Hi,
This might be an oft-repeated question.
I am using F9 Gnome desktop.
I am unable to empty my trash. I get the message, something like I do not have the permission to delete the folder.
I looked around on google and also this forum. I also tried the "rm -rf" method, but the trash refuses to empty.
Since it has not been long since I shifted to F9 from Ubuntu, I still do not know how a lot of things work.
For, example in Ubuntu, I could delete the files in nautilus mode. But I do not even know the Fedora equivalent of "gksudo nautilus" command.
Is there some way to delete the trash? How does the trash work in Fedora?
Please help.
Thanks in advance.

Try KDE and see if Trash gets empty.

Arrow

The deleted files in Gnome are located in
Code:
/home/you-user-name/.local/share/Trash/files
Open a terminal as root, go there, do a chown on the files and then rm.

sudo chown -R username /home/username/.local/share/Trash/files

Just change username to yours

You should always use sudo for these things, as it is the safest way.
