DVD Eject (through UI) - when no DVD in drive...

I have installed Fedora 9 on a Mac Pro (dual Xeon).

I removed my installation disk through right-click on mounted dvd disk on the desktop - so the disk is now gone from the desktop.

There is no "manual eject" button on the dvd drive (the drive is openned in OS X by using the eject key on the keyboard (which of course is not recognized through linux).

I cannot umount it since there is no DVD mounted.

How do you open up the dvd drive through the Gnome (or bash shell) without booting into OSX opening the drive, then booting back into Linux?

( Moved to Mac & PPC )

Try from the console

eject

and see what happens

Edit:

See the man page for eject for more options etc.

In Gnome, go to:

System > Preferences > Personal > Keyboard Shortcuts

and try to map the eject button.
