Guild Wars - low frames per second ?
I just installed Guild Wars on my computer.
Just got the client and ran with wine and it works perfectly! (Guild Wars is listed as "platinum" in the winehq compatibility list).
The only thing is, i'm getting very low fps.
Is there anything i could do on my fedora to make this better? Maybe it's because of the lack of Directx9 ?
My videocard is very capable of running this, it should run it on high resolution with a high fps. Actually, there's a review on winehq of a person who tested, with the exact same videocard as me, and he claims that it works out of the box and that he runs everything on max with no problem and fast enough to even record the game (!). Well, the out of the box part is true, i need help with the FPS now
He is an Ubuntu user. So this shouldn't be so different on Fedora (if not better).
And i'm lowering things to medium to make it a bit faster, between 50-60fps.
Guild Wars is a "ligth" game, it shouldn't "lag" like that.
If this thing works faster here on my box then i won't see windows for a goood while
Any Fedora user plays GW here?
Anybody knows what can help increase FPS?

Hey there!
I think i fixed the problem by running a parameter "-dx8" with the executable.
Just to document here in case somebody else run into this problem, that "-dx8" helps!
