Videos have turned purple/blue/red instead of normal colors

Can anyone help? I have no clue what to do. I have deleted and reinstalled all the codecs for windows and non supported things. All my movies are now featuring blue people and weird colored backgrounds.

Sounds like you're in 16-bit colour mode rather than 24-bit. Set it in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
