JDownloader update not starting

I recently discovered the program JDownloader. I really like it, becaus it is very comfortable. Works great. BUT: Whenever I start the program it tells me that there are several updates available (currently 14 updates). When I click on "OK", nothing happens. There is a line that says "Update Check: 0%".
My version is 3.007.
I hope that there is a possibility to fix this. I would be happy about any help =)

i use jdownloader with ubuntu and i have the same exact problem

(also if you dont update once in a while, then the downloads stop working)

if i use jdownloader in windows the update works fine

so i assume the problem is that even though this is a java application it was still designed to be used in windows

one solution (although not a very good one) is to use a virtualbox with windows

this program is the last remaining reason i still have a copy of windows on my virtualbox

but if anybody has any ideas of how to update jdownloader from within linux, i would be glad to hear them

I solved the problem by downloading a new version of JDownloader from the official homepage. It seems to have a new update-manager that works without problems.
