Nvidia + White Screen + kernel update
Hi guys yesterday i updated kernel, i just turn my box on and everything was fine i logged in, and after that the screen goes white, i can move the mouse and move my icons (apparently) but cant see anything, so i went back to kernel 2.6.26.5-45
I enable livna(i just use freshrpms) to update nvidia drivers but i dont see any update. What should i do now?
Im using fedora 9 64bits and a 8800gt

Seriously guys, what is wrong with Nvidia and Fedora combination... I have been selling Nvidia cards for years but never got so many calling telling me how these cards are failing... specifically on Fedora...

the cards failing is the new nvidia ( is it the 54nm or 70 nm , something) architecture that has a , sort-of recall on it .
old nvidia cards ,like mine , in the legacy department have some "fun " with the new xorg in fedora 9 .
with fedora if one uses the nvidia.run installer then mesa GL will be over written , easy to fix just reinstall mesa ,mesa-devel .
BUT it one MIXES livna and freshrpm and/or atrpm for the driver ( and dependencies )then the easiest thing to do is reinstall fedora . just use livna OR fresh .both are fine BUT NEVER USE THEM BOTH TOGETHER , use one of the other .

Exactly never both of them, thats why i didnt figure the error, because i need to use livna to update nvidia, but i just use freshrpms, i just enable livna (and disable freshrpms) to update it (i cant exclude updates tryed tons of things without success)

yes you can in the repo for what ever repo add
For example in my fedora-updates-newkey.repo
Code:
[updates-newkey]
exclude=xorg* linuxwacom* rhpxl* mesa*
name=Fedora $releasever - $basearch - Updates Newkey
just add an "exclude " line to it
