I installed Fedora 10 from its first release day and got annoyed by its speed on the second day and posted in the forum to see if anyone could help and figured out I went to the wrong sections now. So I reclaim my problem here.
My machine has 512MB of RAM, ATI 7500 Mobility graphic card, and Pentium M 1.5GHz.
Everything runs with no errors. But, everything runs with delays, i.e. clicks of mouse don't result instant response. Major problems:
pre-condition: system is empty load(fresh boot)
1. OpenOffice.org Impress. "Show slides" does not display slides until several seconds after my click. "Next slide" during presentation does not display the next slide until several seconds later. I was plain embarrassed.
2. SuperTux. It runs under 1FPS, or slower.
I thought it was DRI mistake, but DRI was on.
I thought it was caused by compiz so I deleted it. Same situation after execution.
System Monitor tells I have adequate free memory.
I supposed Fedora 10 to be more efficient than Fedora 9 but it turned out to be less. There could be something I missed to configure, or anything? Please help.
