Fedora Core 10 is off-center even when at proper screen resolution

Hello, all,

I have just recently completed installation of Fedora Core 10 on my system. However, my screen is off-center. The system is hooked up to a 720p HDTV via an 8600 GTS graphics card. Even when set to proper resolution (1360*768) the screen is stretched in the horizontal direction. Are there graphics card drivers that need to be installed manually, or something else I can do to resolve this without fumbling with my T.V's settings?

Your television is most likely overscanning, a common "feature" with HDMI input. You can either compensate by getting the video card to underscan and degrade the quality of the ouput or use a DVI input if your TV has one. It's almost certainly the TV's fault and not the video card.

How do I go about getting the video card to underscan?

That, I'm afraid, I don't know. Maybe someone else on the list does. Or you could try googling your vid card model number with "underscan".
