Suggest me a processor

hi all,

Any finally i manged to buy a new pc for me (I used to work in my lab till now )
Can any body suggest a processor which do not require any another device drivers
(Atleast for sound card... )after installing FC2....

some versions of Pentium detects sound card with out any device drivers ...
Some versions after 2.8 do not detect sound card .AMD worked fine for linux
but it has some problems regarding Heat sink etc...

So,I plan to buy a pentium based pc...

Any suggestions are not only expected but also badly needed...

you will have a better understing what some people use after you read this thread i personally prefer to use AMD on all my machines

for sound card i also use a creative labs sound blaster and its always detected by all the distros i used....

Are you having problems with integrated sound? That probably wouldn't be directly related to the CPU, only what motherboard you have. My Intel integrated sound was recgonized without problems.
