Amarok on Fedora 10 not playing any song

i've been using rhythmbox since i started with Fedora 10, but today i decided to have a look at Amarok (for KDE) ... i read a abit about it and how great it is under KDE, alot of people also say it works on Gnome but doesn't look as great, so i decided to give it a go

now installation went well (i used Yumex) ... and program loads up fine, automatically added all my tunes from Music folder, so i was all axcited untill i press play, none of the songs are playerble!

does Amarok need mp3 player plugins and stuff to be setup manually in Gnome (knowing that its for a KDE environment)?

if so, can anyone guide me through this, or give me any links on the how to...

cheers

You could try using Amarok through a terminal command. You may see some error output that way.

Kde (and amarok) use xine as it's backend by default. Either you need to install the xine-extras required to play mp3s or install phonon-backend-gstreamer and use systemsettings to change the default phonon backend to gstreamer.

this good...

i got this look because of a kdetheme called bespin...available at kde-looks.org
you can install kdebase , kdebase-workspace , kdelibs , kde-plasma-addons and kdeadmin ...and their corresponding devels...and then install the bespin theme...the theme offers lots of customization features like:

A button to close the middle pane (the brackets right of the timeline)
A nicer volume control
Cover art by clicking on the preview in the upper right corner
Mini player by clicking on the dot right from the timeline...and some more eye-candy...

and you're welcome
