One MORE Week Slip of Fedora 11 - Jesse Keating
A late discovered and just potentially fixed anaconda storage bug[1] has necessitated another week slip of our schedule. The change is important but invasive enough to require re-validating our storage tests. We were already late in producing the Release Candidate and there is not enough time to produce another one and validate it in time for next Tuesday's release date. Therefor we have decided to enact another week long slip of the release. This gives us time to create a second release candidate and fully validate it and hand it off to the mirrors in plenty of time to sync up for the new release date of June 9th. As much as we regret slipping, we also wish to avoid easily trigger-able bugs in our release, particularly in software that cannot be fixed with a 0-day update. At this time we would only accept tag requests for critical issues. [1]: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=500808 -- Jesse Keating
(Please remember - Bob's just posting what's been said - don't shoot, please? arrrggghhhh )

Well that will work out fine for me as I should have a 'hi-speed" net connection to get the bits by then and also will increase the lifespan of F9 and F10.
edit: should have hi-speed connection June 4 , WOO HOO!

i do hear good things about their latest distro though, beyond being brown it is supposed to be quite good, plus it was released on time and they send you a free cd ... what more can one ask for?

For those who are a bit (*ahem*) impatient, you know that you can install the latest Beta and you'll end up with Final once it becomes finished?
Guys and gals, as sad as slippage is, I'd rather see that than have a Released version that's flawed badly. We've seen that once or twice and since there's only ONE "Final" version, having a broken kernel or other major bork at installation can be a complete PITA.
Let's be patient. Heck, those Vista fanciers had to wait 6 years for their version! What's a couple of weeks?

... and any seasoned Fedora user should know to expect at least one release date push.
Trivia: Since Fedora 1, how many releases have been on-schedule? anybody?
