UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY problem

Friends,

When i started my system which is running with Fedora10, i got the following message

/: UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY: Run fsck manually

*** An error occured during the file system check
*** Dropping you to a shell; the system will reboot
*** When you leave the shell
*** Warning:SELinux is active
*** Disabling security enforcement for system recovery
----
---
Give root password for maintanence ( or tyep Cntl-D to continue):

I gave the root password and then it asked

Repair file system #1

Then i type fsck to fix all the files. Then it asked

Repair file system #2

unfortunately i rebooted the system by giving reboot command. The booting was normal. After that the login screen and it just stays. I am not able to enter into my login.

I am able to remotely connect to the system. KINDLY SUGGEST ME HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

Eagerly waitng for a solution from you friends.

Bala

lvs
df -l
fdisk -l
fsck -options /dev/devname

I assume #1 was /dev/sda1 for /boot
so #2 would be the /root
most likely a default install so
fchk -options /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00

SJ!,

The following is my fdisk -l output

DEVICE BOOT SYSTEM
/dev/sda1 Hidden W95 FAT32 (LBA)
/dev/sda2 HPFS/NTFS
/dev/sda3 W95 Ext'd (LBA)
/dev/sda4 Linux
/dev/sda5 HPFS/NTFS

Since my system had dual boot, i am bit confused about what this HPFS/NTFS means, Should i give like the following

fsck /dev/sda4

I have this same problem. However, when I attempt to run fsck for (Repair filesystem) 1 it freezes after going through many many fixes.

Any ideas on how to get around this?

Thank you
