How do I access Gnome System Taskbar using the keyboard?

Hello All,

I am talking about the ("Footprint" Applications Places System) menu which I have docked at the bottom of my screen.

If my wireless mouse goes wrong, I would like to cleanly shut the machine down using the "System" menu with some kind of "HotKey".

I have tried Ctrl+S, Alt+S, Ctrl+Alt+S, AltGr+S, etc etc etc
I have even tried the ___Windows___ key...

Surely there is a way?

I don't know how to get to the menu using the keyboard, but if you just want to shut down, try Ctrl+Alt+Delete. This will bring the dialog that lets you choose between Reboot|Shut down|Suspend etc.

I know about the '3 finger salute' already and have used this in the past.

I only gave 'shutdown' as an example to give some kind of context...

The question remains open: There must be a way to use the menu without the mouse, surely? ...

Try "alt +F1"

then the cursor arrow keys to navigate.

there is a way to configure your shortcuts, have a look in

sytem > preferences or Administration > an click on accesselibility an click on the keyboard tab
