yeah im looking forward to testing f12 out an by the looks of it, they do have the updated compiz an fusion in 12 0.8.2 in it.

no mention of that Nouveau driver being default in 12 either which is good.

And, just a 'heads-up', but as soon as F11 Final is released, we'll be shutting down the existing Alpha-Beta-Screenshot Forum and moving it to Archived. That way, existing threads won't be lost but can be restarted in the appropriate active Forum.

However, for the truly adventurous and masochistic among us, we'll be starting a Rawhide Forum at the same time. That will be relabelled as Beta-Screenshot F12 Forum when the beta is released. Since quite a few members love the bleeding edge, this will give them a chance to get an early start on discussing the glitches, workarounds and bugzillas involved in the birth of a new version. If it works out, Rawhide Forum will be reborn after every release.

t's also expected that Fedora 12 will most certainly be using X Server 1.7 / X.Org 7.5 and likely the Linux 2.6.32 kernel.

2.6.32 might be possible considering a 2 month or so Linux kernel update cycle

Phoronix isn't really referring to the starting point. The starting point for development of a new release will always be the previous release. In this case, Fedora 11.
