FC11 monitor, KB & mouse problem

Hi all,

Please help, I have been running FC8 on my box (Acer) for several years without the only unwanted restart...

Now I wanted to upgrade for FC11 and burned its iso DVD. When I boot from it, the DVD test passes ok, then Anaconda starts running but nearly immediately the screen breaks in b&W horizontal lines and KB and mouse get dead.

Sometimes before media testing the following error comes:
running install...
running /sbin/loader
detecting hardware...
waiting for hardware to intialize...
Oops: 0000 [#1]

Other time before media testing it starts hanging in the following sequence:
running install...
running /sbin/loader
detecting hardware...
waiting for hardware to intialize...
<here it starts hanging and switching power off is necesary>

I tried to use another monitor what didn't help. I used the same DVD for installation in another box without any problem.

Could any guru advise?

Hi,
Have you tried forcing the system to use a lower display resolution? If that fails you could attempt a text mode installation.

Yes, I did. I tried to select "Install system with basic video driver" but instead of broken screen (see above) it hanged. Using a different monitor resulted in the same behavior.
