Strange Keyboard Problem - Fedora11

I've googled this and can't find a similar enough situation to shed any light on the particular problem l'm seeing. When I first turn the computer on in the morning, everything works fine. After 5-10 minutes of operation however, the following keys cease to function: 2, a, f, g, j, l, and the right hand Shift key. The on-screen keyboard still operates as well the rest of the machine without any other problems. Acer's service rep diagnosed it as a hardware issue, but seeing how the keys do work briefly each day I thought it may be worth getting any input people here have to offer before sending it out for repair. I've updated the BIOS, disabled SELinux and also tried running Linux Mint off a live USB and the problem persists. The computer is an Acer Aspire One netbook, 8gb ssd, 512Mb running Fedora11.

If it's not Fedora and not the BIOS, it's got to be the hardware. The fact that it works first thing proves nothing, as circuit-board troubles often only show up when things get warm: I had that happen with a DVD player once.

Definitely hardware. Be sure to package it well and insure it when you send it back.

Hmm... I experienced something similar with Fedora 11 on eeePC 1005-HA. It was quite strange. Some keys were wrong as described above. After some time they were working correctly again.
With ubuntu karmic I don't have this issue.

Seeing if the problem continues with a livecd would be definitive evidence of hardware failure. When you send it back for refund, it can't hurt to say that it didn't work with another OS either.

My bad, I should have marked this as solved last fall. The manufacturer replaced the keyboard and everything's fine. Belated thanks for the help.
