Really weird problem with Fedora KDE x86_64 nightly build!!

Hi,
I try to run this on my laptop but I run into a really weird problem that I also ran into with openSUSE 11.2 a little while ago. When Fedora goes to boot into KMS for the boot splash, the screen goes really weird and starts showing swirling white stuff. It's really hard to explain and I have never experienced it outside of the openSUSE/Fedora Alphas. Does anyone have a clue what this may be? I really want to install Fedora!

You mean, it never recovers from that state?

Does it work if you pass 'nomodeset' as a kernel parameter?

Yeah I forgot about nomodeset. It actually works if I disable KMS. The error itself is still the weirdest thing I have ever experienced with a PC. There are like horizontal lines that show up first, and then the screen sort of fogs up with the white stuff which starts slowly moving around....

it'd be good if you could file a bug with a video of the problem - even a cellphone video would probably be fine...

If I could find my stupid bluetooth dongle I would, but yet again it's gone into hiding.... >___<
But anyway Fedora still seems to have major issues with my laptop. It has already crashed 4 times in like an hour and a half of installing it, and there are somethings that I dislike about the way you choose to do things. Kudos to your art people on the wallpaper/KDE splash though, they look amazing!

Anyway see you again in 6 months for Fedora 13, maybe things will have improved by then.... :)

sorry to hear that - if you could provide any kind of debugging info on the crashes it'd be great, but I understand if you can't. thanks for testing!
