F13 install under VMware: X server failure

During the installation of Fedora 13 under VMware Workstation I get:

Caught Signal 4 (Illegal instruction). Server aborting

The procedure I followed was:

1. Downloaded Fedora-13-i386-DVD.iso
2. Defined a VM, pointing the CDROM device at the ISO image
3. Started the VM
4. At the "Welcome to Fedora13!" screen I selected the default start
5. Skipped the media check (I had checked it in an earlier boot)
6. I got an "Running anaconda...." message which seems OK
7. I got an "X startup failed, falling back to text mode" message
8. I get the Welcome to Fedora! text mode screen
9. I accessed the log messages for X using Alt-F5

I've tried the following but get the same result:

* Taking the "Install system with basic video driver" boot option
* Changing the VM Display settings to 1 monitor 640 x 480 and booting with the basic driver

The details of the environment are:

Host Machine: Dell Vostro 3500 with an Intel HD Graphics adapter
HOST OS: Windows 7 Professional
VM Host: VMware Workstation for Windows 6.0.0 build-45731.
VM Settings:
* Memory - 512MB
* Hard Disk 150GB
* CD-ROM - pointing at ISO image
* all other settings defaulted

I've read the "Common F13 bugs" wiki page and aside from trying the basic video driver option nothing else looks pertinent.

Is this a known problem?
Can anyone suggest a workaround?

Thanks and regards...Paul

Re: F13 install under VMware: X server failure

I dont know , but I have installed Fe13 (64 bits) in my DELL Inspiron PC (580s) , i5 650 processor, 64 bit machine, with in built 512, G310, ML114N video card .

I guess itt is the video driver causing this problem. I could nt install F10, the screen went blank.

Fedora support group should provide proper driver.

I also need proper driver for my desktop PC. I installed F13 , it is missing. My display freezes very often.

It should be vey powerful machine with intel core(TM) i5 650 processor but not so till now.

DISPLAY freezes and function key does nt work to nonGUI option.
