i can get to gdm, but when gnome kicks in, its over.

running mesa-dri-drivers & mesa-dri-drivers-experimental (7.8.1-8) on ati radeon x1250

ok, update:

so the actual culprit is compiz.
Followed the example there, got 2.6.35.4-14.fc14 from http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/p...fo?packageID=8, installed via rpm -ivh, and got my system working again.


but i reaaally have to set my voice of complain in the matter.
what are the updates guys thinking, pushing a system-breaker update like this? with this problem documented since mid-july.
