(Newbie)URL-hide port and folder

Hi guys, I'm having a problem to hide my url ports and folder.

http://abc.com.my:9090/abc/common/index.jsp

How can I only display :

http://abc.com.my
and it directly divert the page to
http://abc.com.my:9090/abc/common/index.jsp

I'd ask my web admin and they said that it cannot be controlled over DNS server but must be controlled thru folder/apps server.

I'm using Fedora13/JBOSS Apps Server 4.2.2/Postgresql 8.2.

Hope u guys can help me.

TQVM

Open and read notes in your httpd.conf in /etc/httpd/conf/

If you want to 'hide' more than root URL and port, you need to learn mod_rewrite

Re: (Newbie)URL-hide port and folder

Hi Pete, I turn on the CanonicalName

UseCanonicalName On

and put my folder on DocumentRoot

DocumentRoot "/abc/common/index.jsp"

# UseCanonicalName: Determines how Apache constructs self-referencing
# URLs and the SERVER_NAME and SERVER_PORT variables.
# When set "Off", Apache will use the Hostname and Port supplied
# by the client. When set "On", Apache will use the value of the
# ServerName directive.
#
UseCanonicalName Off

#
# DocumentRoot: The directory out of which you will serve your
# documents. By default, all requests are taken from this directory, but
# symbolic links and aliases may be used to point to other locations.
#
DocumentRoot "/var/www/html"
