Fedora 14 on amazon EC2 and mysql

Hello!

I've installed Fedora 14 into EC2 instance and I'm trying to get mysql running. Unfortunately first time "service mysqld start" gives me 99% CPU load by mysqld process and nothing else. It creates two empty directory inside /var/lib/mysql: mysql and test. Does anybody know what's going on?

Thank you!

I get the exact same thing. It also happens with yum install php-pecl-memcached (after installing php). I'm in us-east-1 and have tried with m1.small, c1.medium with 32-bit only.

I also notice it's quite sluggish compared to say Amazon Linux, or Fedora Core 8 on ec2.

FYI, there are some AMIs for Fedora 14 from BoxGrinder:
http://www.jboss.org/boxgrinder/down...appliance.html

These don't have the same issues with the official Fedora 14 AMI's. They just have some extra tools installed.
