enable net port in linux

hi
I am using dell vostro 230..64bit
operating system:fedora 11.

I connected lan cable to net port when in linux it isn't working.

In windows xp .it is working.

I am using network in linux with useb net

how that port works well in linux without usbnet.

help me

Hi ..

By net port do you mean ethernet port? if yes then first of all check your network status and if its not up then please set it up and try to access net.
