Lately, I've been considering installing KDE in addition to GNOME on my Fedora 14 machine. I have a few questions regarding KDE, however. The biggest one is whether installing KDE will mess with my program defaults in GNOME like what happened to me back when I had Ubuntu... Dolphin somehow took over as the default file manager in GNOME as well, and I don't know if that would happen again on Fedora. The other reason I'm a little hesitant is I don't know how much this would bloat up my machine; it can certainly run it without a problem (Core 2 Duo at 1.86 GHz, 2.5 GB RAM, 1 GB Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT), I'm mostly concerned with how many more updates installing KDE would drag onto my computer. The last question I have technically isn't directly related to this, but these questions reminded me: any idea what will happen to Compiz once GNOME Shell takes over for the 2.x series? If I'm asking a lot of questions, I'm sorry, lol, I'm just really curious is all.
