internet disconnects from everything else when downloading

iam working on fedora 14 kde 32-bit version

as the title says , when iam downloading anything from anywhere ,, even when iam updating , i cant use anything else on internet ,,, no chat , not even browsing ,

realy need some help here

PS : i am a linux and fedora noob

How do you go about downloading? Do you use a download manager?

like when iam updating the system ..... with the basic software manager , it disconnect the internet from everything else

when using firefox basic downloader , it happens too , tried JDownloader too ..... same thing and also konqurer

i thought about the modem but this never happened to me on windows ,,,

any ideas ?

alright ..... is there is a way to throttle the download speed ????

alright this is weird... might not make any sense

the internet disconnects with anything else while downloading when iam working on root ....

when i tried the normal user i have made , it doesn't disconnect that much , and also when downloading it gets a higher speed

so ...why is that ? happening ???
