Totem and BBC iPlayer

I noticed in the plugins on my fedora 13 systems under Totem that is has a BBC iplayer plugin. Ticked the box nothing happens?

Anyone know what to do to enable it?

yum list | grep totem doesn't show an .rpm to install

yum list | grep iplayer doesn't help either?

yum repolist

Just as an update I can see iplayer on the properties drop down and indeed can see the titles listed they just don't seem to play.

I notice in the plugins section when I enable the BBC iplayer plugin the configure button is always 'greyed out'.

If anyone knows hoe to enable this button that may help.

Re: Totem and BBC iPlayer

Hello
I'd forgotten about totem's iplayer plugin, so installed it again just now,
hmmm same problem as yerself, the bbc did have some changes lately that killed get_iplayer which was updated to fix and is what I'd recommend for iplayer so maybe that's also killed the plugin.
The totem plugin uses/used the mobile phone versions of iplayer programmes anyway so was very low res.
get_iplayer is available from rpmfusion or http://linuxcentre.net/getiplayer/download and http://linuxcentre.net/getiplayer/installation for manual install
You'll also need rtmpdump, happy viewing

Re: Totem and BBC iPlayer

Thanks for the reply.

I'll pass on the Totem iplayer as not sure its gonna work so well. I have iplayer installed and spent yesterday pm writing a script a to pull down the files and sort them to what I want. So I can the extract the download numbers and pull those down.

Yakky.

Re: Totem and BBC iPlayer

You might want to look at get_iplayer.noarch from rpmfusion-free-updates. It is a CLI script that downloads BBC mp4 files to disk. It has a proxy option to go through an anonymous proxy to bypass the BBC IP location check. Google for free anonymous proxy for a list of open proxies to use.
