Samsung Q45 brightness and wireless LAN Function Keys

I got F14 installed and everything working perfectly, except

- Function key Fn+<Up/Down Arrow> to increases/decrease brightness doesn't work.

- Function key to disable (switch off) wireless LAN doesn't work.

Its quite bothering. Any fixes? I would just like to reduce the brightness and switch off wireless LAN, by any means.

Hello,

For the brightness button this may help.

http://linuxtweaking.blogspot.com/20...amsung-fn.html

First find out what Fedora identifies your laptop as, run the command

su -c 'dmidecode -s system-product-name'

The output of the above command is what you need to add to your 95-keyboard-force-release.rules if it is not already present.

Thanks! This (brightness part) really works, easily!

Also noticed that now Fn+Wirless LAN keys enables/disables "Enable Wireless" option in network manager, however the LED light for Wirless LAN remains ON all the time. Not sure, if there is some workaround for this...!

cheers!

This workaround that works nicely is overwritten once some Fedora 14 software update happens.

Hope this brightness issue is finally fixed in Fedora 15.

This workaround, though works nicely, is overwritten when some F14 software update happens.

Lets hope this brightness issue is finally fixed in F15.
