Unhappy ATI Catalyst\Driver Problem on Fedora 14

I installed ATI Catalyst Control Center as per the instructions in this thread:
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=155503

Now when I run ATI Catalyst Control Center I get the following error:

Quote:
There was a problem initializing Catalyst Control Center Linux edition. It could be caused by the following.

No ATI graphics driver is installed, or the ATI driver is not functioning properly.
Please install the ATI driver appropriate for you ATI hardware, or configure using aticonfig.
Any solution?

when I run fgl_glxgears I get following:
Quote:
Using GLX_SGIX_pbuffer
IRQ's not enabled, falling back to busy waits: 2 0
Error: couldn't get fbconfig

Re: ATI Catalyst\Driver Problem on Fedora 14

Hi
Is fglrx kernel module loaded?
Code:
#/sbin/lsmod | grep fglrx
Is any errors on kernel 2.6.35.13 log exists?
Code:
# less /var/log/messages
Is any errors on Xorg 1.1.1 log exists?
Code:
# less /var/log/Xorg.0.log

output of /sbin/lsmod | grep fglrx :

Code:
fglrx 2420494 0

I don't see any error in those files.

Show glxinfo output and /var/log/Xorg.0.log:

Code:
# glxinfo | grep glx
# cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Your Xorg server doesn't use fglrx video driver. Currently used driver - radeon.
Create custom /etc/X11/xorg.conf with fglrx driver.

How do I do that?

I tried:
aticonfig --initial

Output:
Uninitialised file found, configuring.
Fail to link to fglrx-libglx.so, please check whether driver is installed correctly
Using /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Saving back-up to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.original-0

"aticonfig --initial" created a new xorg.conf file but when I restarted Fedora it didn't start in GUI mode. (it hanged right after the progress bar completion) so I had to use command mode & delete that xorg.conf file.

Threre is not information about fglrx in Xorg.0.log.
Remove the installed catalyst driver, download it from ati.com and try to install.
