pulseaudio slow to terminate after logout

When logging out of F14 gnome, the pulseaudio process keeps some files in the /home/<user>/.pulse/ directory open for a long time (at least 10 seconds after logout). This makes it a problem to unmount the volume containing the home directory (it will be busy). Does anyone know how to make pulseaudio shut down faster in order to get a clean shutdown/reboot of the system?
