Re: I can't play *.m4a music use Banshee and Rhythmbox

Is faad2-libs installed?
Code:
andrew@localhost> rpm -qi faad2-libs | grep -A 2 Description
Description :
FAAD 2 is a LC, MAIN and LTP profile, MPEG2 and MPEG-4 AAC decoder, completely
written from scratch.

I would add the rpmfusion repo, including non-free, then install mplayer. That usually provides most of the codecs.

Hello
could you try playing the file from the command line using mplayer
Code:
mplayer ~/Music/some-tunes.m4a
and post the result.

Re: I can't play *.m4a music use Banshee and Rhythmbox

Still, if you give it a try we can see from the terminal output what is not working and help you rectify it
I'm not sure if banshee uses gstreamer or libav for it's decoders, if it's libav you'll need ffmpeg

Hello
could you post the output when played with mplayer, it has a much more comprehensive printout than any other player.
