Capture Card

I just recently got a DVD writer for my FC2 system. (NEC 3500A--works great!). I want to, among other things, copy my VHS and HI-8 tapes over to DVD. What type of card do I need to do this and any recommendations would be great! Thanks.

I don't know about the capture card, but digital video cameras may be able to connect directly with a Firewire cable.

If you can't find anything to buy to convert vhs and hi-8 directly, you could buy a mini-DV camcorder with analog video inputs, re-record everything to DV, then easily grab the DV-encoded video to linux via kino or cinelarra through a firewire port and create menus with dvdstyler or qt.... (i forget the qt dvd menu maker name).
