KWin crashing
I have a pretty new install of Fedora 16 with the KDE spin running. I installed a theme, I think it was KDust, and since then, KWin has refused to run. It just crashes almost instantly. When I log out and back in, it's fine until I open a window. I ran kwin in the terminal, and here is the output:
Code:
KCrash: Application 'kwin' crashing...
KCrash: Attempting to start /usr/libexec/kde4/drkonqi from kdeinit
sock_file=/home/eggbertx/.kde/socket-eggbertx-laptop/kdeinit4__0
QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave.
Application::crashHandler() called with signal 11; recent crashes: 4
KCrash: Application 'kwin' crashing...
If this is being caused solely by the theme, is there a way I can change the theme to one of the preloaded ones through the terminal?
Also regarding themes, I noticed anything with "Aurorae" in it causes the buttons to flicker when used. II'm pretty sure KDE comes with Aurorae, so what could be causing this?

Re: KWin crashing
On my system, the theme is written in ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals, in the [General] section.
You can search for the theme name in the configuration files:
Code:
grep -i kdust ~/.kde/share/config/*
Hope it helps a little...

Re: KWin crashing
Well here's my kdeglobals file, I don't see anything that looks like it could be causing the problem
Code:
[$Version]

That command points to ~/.kde/share/config/auroraerc
Here are its contents
Code:
[Engine]
ThemeName=FormaN
[Kdust]
BorderSize=1
ButtonSize=1
Still no idea. I tried removing the kdust section, and the ThemeName value, but that didn't change anything.

Re: KWin crashing
Try to find where 'aurora' is defined and replace it.
By the way, I don't find it in the repositories...
Other idea: delete (or move somewhere else) ~/.kde/share/config/kwinrc.
There is no guaranty, but it could work.

Re: KWin crashing
Yeah, aurorae doesn't seem to be in the repos, but according to the KDE theming website, it should be bundled with KDE 4.4+ I think
Update: Removing kwinrc fixed it, thanks
