Java Broken on laptop!

Hi, I have a sony Vaio vgn-fw109 that i am trying to use with my ip camera. It requires JRE version 1.6u 29. Installed on my laptop is version 1.7. I try to install 1.6u29 and 1.6.u30 but it wont work. I have noticed that the java test on the java site shows a problem but gives me no information. Perhaps someone has an idea what i can do to get it running. I am a bit confused.

Re: Java Broken on laptop!

In my opinion, you should just repeat the steps word for word carefully and you should be able to install java. Good luck.

That was it. I now have Java 7 and my applications work!

Thank you very much. It has been a struggle.
