Thank you for taking a look at this perplexing issue. I have one wireless adapter and one wired NIC, and oddly enough it is the Wireless that is working perfectly while the wired NIC does not show up in ifconfig or NM. It does show up in lspci.

2GB Mem
I have tried moving the wired NIC to different PCI slots, but the result is the same -- no network connectivity.
