Making xinput changes persistent.

Hello

I'm using

xinput --set-map-binding 13 1 2 3 5 4 7 6

to change the keybinding for device id 13 (synaptic touchpad) so that the X and Y direction for scrolling with two finger scrolling is reversed.

Do any of you know how I can make this change persistent across restarts? As it is now I have to run the command after each restart.

With regards.

Garmr

Re: Making xinput changes persistent.

Hello Garmr,

You could try creating a file called .Xdefaults in your home directory and place your xinput command in the .Xdefaults file. Then, whenever X starts, it should read your .Xdefaults file and run your command. I have other X commands in my .Xdefaults file. The permissions on my .Xdefaults file are in the following use of the command ls -al:

-rw-rw-r--. 1 ben ben 687 Jun 7 2011 .Xdefaults

ben.
